The Ames SEO Chrome extension (developed by Dilmar Ames / Ames Digital) provides technical On-Page SEO audits, semantic content analysis, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) diagnostics, and local video subtitle (.srt) generation.

We respect your privacy and are committed to full transparency regarding user data collection, handling, storage, and sharing in compliance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and global privacy laws.

2. Website Usage (dilmarames.com)

A. Information Collected on the Website

  • Voluntarily Provided Data: Name, email address, phone/WhatsApp number, and project details submitted through contact forms.
  • Browsing Data & Cookies: Technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on page, collected via analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) for continuous user experience optimization.

B. Purpose of Website Data Processing

Data collected on the website is used exclusively to respond to requests for proposals, inquiries, and consulting services regarding SEO & Analytics, and to ensure website security and proper operation.

3. Specific Data Disclosure for “Ames SEO” Extension

To provide AI-powered semantic audits and subtitle generation, the Ames SEO extension processes and transmits specific data payloads directly from your browser to Google’s Generative AI API (Google Gemini API at https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com).

We explicitly collect, handle, and process the following four types of data:

  1. Prompt Text: Pre-defined system instructions, prompt templates, and audit guidelines used to instruct the AI model on how to evaluate SEO and structure output.
  2. User-Provided Text: Text inputs, custom instructions, keywords, or queries typed directly into the extension by the user.
  3. Base64 Audio: Audio data extracted locally from user-selected video or audio files and converted into Base64 format for the sole purpose of speech-to-text transcription and subtitle (.srt) generation.
  4. Page Content: Webpage DOM elements, including meta titles, meta descriptions, headings (H1–H6), body text, image ALT attributes, Schema.org structured data, and links extracted from the active browser tab.

A. How This Data Is Handled & Used

  • Purpose of Usage: This data is used exclusively to generate technical SEO reports, entity extractions, content suggestions, and video subtitles requested by the user.
  • No Developer Server Storage: Ames Digital does not collect, store, log, or maintain any of this data on external developer servers. All processing is initiated client-side in your browser.
  • Transmission to Third Parties: The prompt text, user-provided text, base64 audio, and page content are transmitted securely via HTTPS solely to Google Gemini API (https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com), using the user’s personal API key.

4. Data Storage, Security & Retention

  • 100% Client-Side / Local Processing: All DOM technical analysis, link extraction, header validation, and WebAssembly (FFmpeg) audio processing occur strictly inside your own browser.
  • Local Storage Only: Your settings, preferences, and Google Gemini API key are saved locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local.
  • Temporary Processing: Page content, base64 audio, and user-provided text are processed ephemerally in memory during active requests and are not persistently stored by the extension.
  • No Personal Identifiable Information (PII): The extension DOES NOT collect or track names, email addresses, browsing history outside audited tabs, IP addresses, location data, or financial information.

5. Data Sharing & Third-Party Disclosure

  • No Data Selling or Renting: We NEVER sell, rent, trade, lease, or transfer user data, page content, audio, or prompts to advertisers, data brokers, or third parties.
  • Third-Party API Disclosures: Data is shared exclusively with Google Services when requested by the user:
    • Google Gemini API (https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com): For processing prompt text, user-provided text, base64 audio, and page content. Please review Google’s Privacy Policy for details on how Google handles API data.

6. User Controls & Data Rights

Users maintain full control over their data:

  • API Key Removal: You can view, modify, or delete your saved Google Gemini API key at any time in the Config tab of the extension.
  • Complete Data Wiping: Uninstalling the extension or clearing browser data immediately deletes all stored settings and keys from your device.

7. Chrome Web Store Limited Use Compliance

Ames SEO’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect website or extension enhancements. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
